Augmented Reality Design
Designing for spatial computing — where digital and physical worlds converge. AR experiences built in coursework and independent research at ASU.
Included Works
- The Architecture of Type — AR lecture poster series

Overview
A collection of augmented reality design projects produced during coursework and independent research at Arizona State University. These projects explore how spatial computing can merge digital information seamlessly with physical environments.
Designing for AR requires understanding user behavior in physical space, spatial hierarchy, depth cues, and the limits of overlaid interfaces. Each project in this series pushes the boundary between screen-based interaction and spatial experience.
Project 01 — The Architecture of Type
Type is built, not accidental.
A lecture series poster system that treats letterforms as structure. Each poster takes one idea from the talk, Gesture, Alignment and Modularity, and stages it across Latin, Devanagari and Arabic scripts, from hand-drawn gesture to aligned typography to modular digital systems.
The posters are designed to be viewed through augmented reality, where the printed surface becomes the stage and the structure behind each letterform is revealed in space. Lecture by Purvi Thawrani, 1:00 pm onwards, Rio Salado Pkwy 85128, AZ.

Screen Recordings
The AR layer in motion.
Recordings of the augmented reality experience captured on device, showing how the poster responds as the viewer moves around it.
